Our driver line up is set for this week’s round of the 2020 SRO World Challenge Championship! Read on to meet the drivers of our to Audi RS 3 LMS TCR race cars set to compete in the TC America class this weekend at VIRginia International Raceway!
Tristan Herbert, driver of our #44 New German Performance TCR car, has an extensive background in motorsports. Tristan began his track career in 2008, joining SCCA in the DC region and attending the driver’s school in a self-prepped 84’ VW rabbit. Since then, Tristan has amassed 22 wins, 3 track records and the ITB championship in the Mid-Atlantic Road Racing Series. Supported by VWgroup of America and BRIMTEK Motorsports in 2009, he made his first VW pro racing debut in the Pirelli World Challenge at the Streets of St. Petersburg circuit in the VW/BRIMTEK prepared 2009 GTI. He captured the pole in qualifying, a track record and the touring class victory all in his first pro rookie race. Continuing the momentum and sponsored by VWgroup of America in 2011, Tristan campaigned a new at the time 2012 VW Jetta (DSG) and solidified 1 win and 3 podiums at Sonoma, Laguna Seca and Utah. Tristan went on to earn the Pirelli World Challenge Rookie of the Year Award and noted as Grassroots Motorsports top ten drivers of 2011. In 2013 he decided to hang up his pro racing efforts and turn his hobby into a career by securing the role as Lamborghini of America’s Motorsport Manager. Tristan managed the development and launch of Lamborghini’s first U.S. single make series, Super Trofeo which still runs today. Fast forward to 2020, Tristan has been the Motorsports Manager of Audi Sport customer racing North America for the last six years running a customer base of over 100 Audi specific race cars which include efforts in IMSA and SRO’s GT3, GT4, TCR and GT2 platforms. The SRO TC America race will be quite competitive, but VIR is one of Tristan’s home circuits with over 1000 laps at the historic track.
Piloting car #88, Vinnie Lima is the Managing Director of VVL Systems & Consulting, an IT Optimization small business located in Maryland. As a husband and father of two girls who are passionate about the “Four Rings”, Vinnie began his motorsports journey with the Audi Club of North America progressing through ACNA’s High-Performance Driving Events (HPDEs), learning from the best in the field. To further grow his passion for motorsports, he became an Audi Sport Customer Racing customer in 2019 by purchasing an Audi RS 3 LMS. Working with New German Performance and Audi Sport Customer Racing, Vinnie is taking his joy for racing the next step in joining SRO TC American series for the first time and at his favorite track – Virginia International Raceway.
